Studier (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Studier mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Information You Provide
- Account Information — When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google).
- User Content — Flashcard decks, flashcards, quizzes, folders, and study guides you create within the App.
- Uploaded Files — PDF documents and images you upload for AI-powered flashcard generation.
- Sharing Information — Email addresses you provide when sharing decks with other users.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data — Study sessions, quiz attempts, study mode preferences, card interactions, response times, and accuracy scores.
- Device Information — Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Analytics Data — Screen views, feature usage, and app performance metrics to help us improve the App.
Information from Third Parties
- Google Sign-In — If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
- Apple Sign-In — If you sign in with Apple, we receive the information you choose to share (name and/or email).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Create and manage your account
- Sync your flashcards, decks, and study data across your devices
- Power AI features such as flashcard generation and quiz creation
- Track your study progress, streaks, and statistics
- Enable deck sharing between users
- Process subscriptions and manage your account tier
- Send you notifications related to your study goals and reminders (if enabled)
- Analyze usage trends to improve features and user experience

3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers — We use third-party services to operate the App, including:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, cloud storage, and cloud functions
- RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase management
- OpenAI / AI Providers — Processing uploaded documents for flashcard and quiz generation (document content is sent for processing and is not stored by us beyond what is necessary)
- Deck Sharing — When you share a deck, the recipient will see your email address and the shared deck content.
- Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- Business Transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which employs industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
- We use token-based authentication to protect your account and data.
- Firestore security rules ensure that users can only access their own data.
- While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
- We retain your account data and user content for as long as your account is active.
- Study session history, quiz attempts, and interaction data are retained to provide your statistics and analytics.
- If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes.
- Uploaded PDF documents are processed for flashcard generation and are not permanently stored after processing is complete.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate information in your account settings.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Data Portability — Request your data in a portable format.
- Opt Out of Notifications — Disable push notifications through your device settings.
- Withdraw Consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

7. Subscriptions and Payments
- Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.).
- Subscription management and purchase validation are handled through RevenueCat, which communicates with Apple's servers.

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
